The app is open: Real Kink Men on iPhone and Android

For the last few weeks a small group of members has been testing the Real Kink Men app on their phones, breaking it, and telling us what broke. Thank you, all of you. Starting today, the beta is open to everyone.

If you have an account on the site, you can sign in to the app. No invite, no waiting list, no request to send.

What's in it

The app is the site, rebuilt for your phone:

• Home, with For you, Following and Nearby, plus Stories at the top
• Messages, with voice notes, and voice and video calls
• Radar, to see who's around you on the map
• On Air, to go live yourself or watch and join other members' streams
• Circles, Events and The Journal
• Story Studio and a photo and video editor for your posts and stories
• Notifications on your phone when someone messages, calls, comments or follows you

You can also lock the app with Face ID, so nobody picking up your phone walks straight into your messages. Set how long it waits in Settings → App lock.

On iPhone

The iPhone app runs through TestFlight, Apple's own app for trying apps before they reach the App Store.

1. On your iPhone, open this link: Join the iPhone beta
2. If you don't have TestFlight yet, the link sends you to the App Store to get it. Install it, then open the link again.
3. Tap Accept, then Install.
4. Open the app and sign in with your Real Kink Men username and password.

TestFlight keeps the app up to date. When a new build is ready, TestFlight tells you, and smaller fixes arrive by themselves the next time you open the app.

On Android

The Android app isn't in the Play Store yet, so you install it straight from us.

1. On your Android phone, open this link: Download for Android
2. Your phone may ask you to allow installs from your browser first. Allow it for this download.
3. Android may warn that it doesn't recognise the developer. Tap More details, then Install anyway. That warning is only there because the app isn't in the Play Store yet.
4. Open the app and sign in with your Real Kink Men username and password.

The download is big, close to 500 MB, so use Wi-Fi.

Signing in

Use the same username and password you use on the website. If you've turned on two-factor authentication, the app asks for your code just like the site does. Your profile, your messages, your follows and your membership are all already there. There's nothing to set up twice.

What's not in the app

Video Chat stays on the website. It isn't in the app and won't be for now. To get on camera from your phone, use On Air: go live yourself, or join someone else's stream. And the website isn't going anywhere. Save it to your home screen if you'd rather keep using it that way.

It's a beta

Beta means it isn't finished. Some things are missing, some will change, and now and then something will break. When it does, tell us. Open a support ticket and say what phone you're on and what you were doing. What you tell us decides what we fix first.

The App Store and Play Store versions come next. We'll tell you here when they're ready.
